The person helping is part of the system too: attention, judgement, presence, ethics and the way we decide what matters.
The Nine Realms are a map for seeing more of human experience at once. They are not nine kinds of people, nine diagnoses or nine treatments.
Someone may arrive talking about anxiety, pain, conflict, confidence or sleep. Useful descriptions, perhaps. But they are not the whole story. The same person also has a body, an identity, an emotional history, ways of paying attention, protective strategies, inherited rules, relationships, aspirations and a particular way of constructing meaning. The Nine Realms help keep more of that person visible.
The person helping is part of the system too: attention, judgement, presence, ethics and the way we decide what matters.
Perception, attention, inner experience and the limits of what the current state allows into awareness.
Self-concept, roles, protective identities and the versions of ourselves that keep reproducing familiar lives.
Emotion as information, protection and movement rather than simply a symptom to suppress.
The territory where deeper change, protection, pain, pattern and reorganisation meet.
Conditioning, inherited rules and the structures we mistake for obvious reality because we have carried them for years.
Courage, persistence, vulnerability, integrity and the capacities life sometimes asks us to develop rather than merely understand.
Whole-system change across identity, behaviour, environment, meaning and possibility.
The stranger edges of human possibility approached with curiosity, structure and enough scepticism to remain useful.
Sanomentology came first. The Nine Realms came later as the wider framework around the growing body of work. That chronology matters because the map should not be mistaken for the origin of the methodology.
Today, the first five Realms are represented commercially inside the Sanomentology practitioner pathway and related personal work. Realms Six to Nine remain distinct programmes in their own right. The map remains wider than any one course.
The Nine Realms do not tell you that every problem is secretly one thing. Quite the opposite. They are a reminder that the same visible difficulty can make sense from several levels at once.
Sometimes the useful change begins by seeing the same human being from somewhere else.
