Martin Rothery — Creator of Sanomentology & The Nine Realms
Martin Rothery
Creator of Sanomentology
Founder, Nine Realms Institute
Meet Martin Rothery
A British therapist. A complete architecture.
Martin Rothery is the creator of the Nine Realms — a deep architecture for changework that brings together clinical reality, psychological reality, mythic reality and magical reality without turning it into circus.
He is the founder of Sanomentology, a healing methodology used by practitioners around the world to work with pain, trauma, identity collapse and non-ordinary experiences.
Martin has spent over four decades resolving his own trauma (he calls himself “client zero”), working with clients, studying magical and mystical traditions, and building a coherent system that can hold everything from simple phobias to full-blown spiritual emergencies.
Today, he trains therapists, coaches, healers and magical practitioners who want more than scripts and protocols — they want a map.
He speaks with clarity, humour and respect for both scepticism and strangeness.
Topics I Can Speak On
Five areas. Endless angles.
These are starting points. Martin tailors topics and approach to your audience and format.
Why “one technique fixes everything” is theatre, not changework
›- How one-size-fits-all methods fail real clients
- The difference between tools and architecture
- Mapping complex clients across different Realms (layers of reality)
- Why this matters ethically as well as practically
Therapy & magic — what serious practitioners can learn without losing their licence
›- How modern methods quietly stole from voodoo, hoodoo, hermeticism and chaos magic
- Why pretending we’re not doing “magic” makes the work less safe
- Ways to integrate magic, psi and synchronicity into changework without going full-woo
- Case examples of “impossible” outcomes and how to think about them
The Nine Realms — a map for people who live between trauma, therapy and magic
›- The 9-Realm architecture in plain language
- Why trauma, identity, emotion and magic all need different rooms in the same building
- How practitioners can stop guessing and start locating the Realm they’re in
- Stories from the Healing, Transformational and Potentiality Realms
Identity, archetypes & the 13th pattern — the God Seed
›- Why archetypal work exploded — and often got watered down — online
- The limits of the classic 12-archetype grids
- What Martin calls the God Seed — the 13th archetype that doesn’t fit the boxes
- How this changes identity work in practice
Practitioners as instruments — structure, shadow and scope
›- Why two practitioners can use the same technique with very different outcomes
- How practitioner trauma, identity and shadow shape sessions
- Ethics, scope and responsibility when you work with deep or “weird” phenomena
- What the Practitioner Realm asks of us
