Nine Realms Institute

Scope &
Certification

What your certification gives you: real practitioner training, permission to use the work, and clear responsibility to follow the laws where you practise.

What certification from the Nine Realms Institute gives you

Training, competence and
permission to practise the work.

When you complete the relevant Nine Realms and Sanomentology trainings, your certification confirms that you have been trained in this body of work and are authorised by Nine Realms Institute to use the methods, processes and practitioner language you have been taught.

That matters. This is not a vague certificate of attendance. It is confirmation that you have studied the system, learned the architecture, worked with the methods, and met the required standard for the certification you receive.

Your certification gives you:
  • The skills and knowledge taught within the relevant Realm, programme or modality
  • Permission from Nine Realms Institute to use the processes, methods and frameworks you have been trained in
  • Permission to describe your work using the appropriate NRI language, such as certified Sanomentologist or Nine Realms Practitioner, once you have met the relevant requirements
  • A clear ethical and professional frame for using this work with clients
  • A recognised training lineage, with a defined model rather than a random collection of techniques
The only boundary is local law:
  • If a title is legally protected where you practise, you must only use it if you already hold that legal qualification
  • If your country, state or professional body has rules around therapy, hypnotherapy, counselling, coaching or mental health work, you must follow them
  • Your certification gives you permission from us to use the work; it does not override the law where you live
  • Where clinical or regulated language is restricted, you choose lawful language for your local context

In plain English: we train you properly, certify your competence, and give you permission to use the work. You then practise under the titles, advertising rules and professional requirements that are legal where you are.

Scope by Realm

Foundational depth and
client application.

The Nine Realms are designed as a complete architecture. Some Realms build the practitioner’s understanding, identity, ethics and depth. Others teach direct processes for client work. Together, they create a much stronger practitioner than technique-only training ever can.

Foundational Architecture
Realms 1–4
Realm 9
Practitioner, Consciousness, Identity, Emotional, Potentiality
These Realms develop the practitioner’s model of change: who you are in the room, how consciousness works, how identity is structured, how emotions communicate, and how potentiality is engaged. They certify completion and competence in the educational architecture and form part of the professional foundation for deeper client work.
Client Application
Realms 5–8
Healing (Sanomentology), Liberation, Heroic, Transformational
These Realms include direct practitioner application. Certification affirms that you have been trained to use the relevant processes and structures with clients, and gives you permission from Nine Realms Institute to practise them under the appropriate NRI or Sanomentology banner, while staying within your lawful local scope.

Sanomentology as a Defined Modality

A complete therapeutic
change-work modality.

Sanomentology is a distinct, defined and trademarked modality with its own training pathway, practitioner standards, processes and certification. It is designed for deep therapeutic change work and gives practitioners a clear structure for working with the unconscious, protection, identity, emotional patterning and the architecture beneath symptoms.

When you are trained and certified in Sanomentology, you are authorised by Nine Realms Institute to use the method with clients and to advertise yourself using the appropriate Sanomentology language, subject to the legal and advertising rules where you practise.

In many regions, business insurers are familiar with Sanomentology and may provide practice insurance for certified practitioners. Insurance availability always depends on the provider, country and state. Where an insurer needs information, we can provide training details and modality documentation.

The training gives you the modality. The certification gives you permission from us. Your local legal context tells you which titles and wording to use.

Working Within Your Legal Context

Clear permission.
Clean professional responsibility.

This page exists to make the position clear, not to make the work sound fragile. Nine Realms Institute trains and certifies practitioners in a real body of therapeutic change work. Graduates may use the methods they have been trained in and may practise under the relevant NRI or Sanomentology banner, provided they do so lawfully.

Laws vary. Some places regulate particular titles such as therapist, psychotherapist, counsellor, psychologist, hypnotherapist or mental health practitioner. Some places do not. Some practitioners already hold licences and use this work inside an existing clinical practice. Others practise under coaching, Sanomentology, spiritual guidance, complementary therapy or change-work language, depending on what is lawful where they are.

The responsibility is simple: use the work you are certified in, represent yourself honestly, and obey the laws and professional rules that apply to you.

We provide:

  • Deep practitioner training in the Nine Realms and Sanomentology architecture
  • The skills, methods, frameworks and processes taught inside the relevant certification pathway
  • Permission to use the work you have been trained in with clients
  • Certification language and ethical standards
  • Supporting information for insurers where needed

You provide:

  • Accurate local legal checks in your country, state or profession
  • Honest use of titles and advertising language
  • Professional responsibility for your own practice context
  • Appropriate referral when a client needs licensed medical, psychiatric or emergency care

Ethics, Safety & the Nine Realms

Serious work deserves
serious standards.

The point is not to make practitioners nervous. It is to make them clean, skilled and trustworthy. If you are going to work deeply with people, you need more than a script. You need ethics, boundaries, skill, consent, referral awareness and a clear understanding of what you are doing.

Practitioners trained in the Nine Realms and Sanomentology are expected to:

  • Honour client autonomy and informed consent at all times
  • Use only the methods they have been trained and certified to use
  • Work within their competence and refer out when a case requires support beyond their scope
  • Avoid making medical, legal or financial claims outside their remit
  • Avoid promising guaranteed outcomes or miracle cures
  • Maintain appropriate boundaries and confidentiality
  • Represent their training honestly and confidently

This is not about shrinking the work. It is about giving it the professionalism it deserves.

Frequently Asked Questions

Clear questions,
clear answers.

Does certification allow me to work with clients?+
Yes. That is the purpose of practitioner certification. It confirms that you have been trained in the relevant methods and are authorised by Nine Realms Institute to use them with clients. You still need to practise under lawful titles and advertising language in your own location.
Can I call myself a therapist?+
That depends on where you practise. In some places, “therapist” or related titles are protected or regulated. In others, they are not. If you already hold a regulated licence, you can integrate the work within that scope. If you do not, use the lawful language available to you, such as certified Sanomentologist, Nine Realms Practitioner, complementary practitioner, coach, change-work practitioner or other accurate wording appropriate to your jurisdiction.
Is Sanomentology a complete modality?+
Yes. Sanomentology is a defined, trademarked therapeutic change-work modality with its own processes, training pathway, standards and certification. Certification gives you permission from Nine Realms Institute to use and advertise the modality, subject to local law and professional rules.
Will I be insured if I practise this work?+
Many practitioners are able to obtain insurance for Sanomentology or related practitioner work, but insurance is always decided by the provider in your country or state. We can provide information about the training and modality if an insurer requests it, but we cannot guarantee coverage.
Can I use this alongside psychotherapy, coaching or other modalities?+
Yes, provided you stay within your existing scope and explain your work clearly to clients. If you are a licensed professional, follow the rules of your licensing body. If you practise outside regulated clinical titles, use lawful and accurate language. We also ask practitioners to keep core Sanomentology processes clean rather than mixing methods mid-process in a way that confuses the work.
Does Boundless or Foundations give me everything I need to start a practice?+
The training gives you the body of work, the skills, the knowledge, the methods, the practitioner architecture and the certification pathway. To run a professional practice, you also need the normal practice foundations: lawful local setup, insurance where appropriate, client agreements, business systems and experience. That is not a weakness in the training. It is simply the reality of working professionally.
