Download the app.
Tap the gold Download the Android App button on this page. Your phone will download a file ending in .apk.
The Nine Realms student app gives enrolled students direct access to their training, progress, audio journeys, lessons, certificates and materials on Android, iPhone and iPad.
The app is installed directly from Nine Realms Institute rather than Google Play. Because of that, Android may show several security screens before it allows installation. Follow this guide only when you downloaded the file from this official page.
The exact wording may be slightly different on Samsung, Pixel and other Android phones. You may not see every screen below, and some screens may appear in a different order.
Tap the gold Download the Android App button on this page. Your phone will download a file ending in .apk.
Your browser may ask whether you want to download the file. Tap Download or Download anyway, then open the downloaded file.
After the download finishes, tap Open. If that message has disappeared, open your browser menu and choose Downloads, or open the phone’s Files / Downloads folder and tap the Nine Realms .apk file.
If Android blocks the file, tap Settings. Find Allow from this source and switch it on for the browser or Files app you used to open the download. Then press Back to return to the installation.
After allowing installation, Android may return you to the file automatically. If it does not, tap the downloaded APK again. When the Nine Realms installation screen appears, tap Install.
You may see a Google warning because the app is not from Google Play. Only when you downloaded it from this official page, tap See details or More details, then choose Install anyway if your phone offers that option.
When installation completes, tap Open. Sign in with your student account or request a secure email login link. The app will show the Realms already connected to your account.
After the app is installed, you may return to Settings → Install unknown apps and switch off Allow from this source for your browser. The Nine Realms app will remain installed.
Your progress is connected to your student account. Lessons completed on the website and in the app will appear in the same training journey.
This means Android is asking permission for the app that opened the file — usually Chrome, Samsung Internet or Files — to install this APK. Tap Settings, switch on Allow from this source, then return to the download.
If you downloaded the APK from this official page and the warning offers See details or More details, open it and tap Install anyway. If no install option exists, do not turn off your phone’s protections: contact support.
Open your phone’s Files or Downloads app, or open the browser menu and choose Downloads. Tap the Nine Realms file ending in .apk.
No additional installer should normally be needed. Current Android phones install APK files from the browser or Downloads folder. Do not download an unknown third-party APK installer.
Delete the incomplete download and download the app again from this page. If you previously installed a Nine Realms test version, contact support before removing it so you receive the correct next step.
A managed work/school phone, family-control setting or advanced device security setting may forbid direct APK installation. In that case, this installation method may not work on that phone.
Samsung, Google Pixel, Xiaomi and other manufacturers use different wording. Look for phrases such as Settings, Install unknown apps, Allow from this source, See details and Install anyway.
Confirm that you installed the latest version from this official page. If the problem continues, contact support with your phone model and a screenshot of the message shown.
Do not continue if you received the APK from anywhere other than this official page, if your phone identifies the file as harmful without offering a normal installation route, or if you are unsure which permission your phone is asking you to approve.
On iPhone and iPad, the app-like version is installed as a secure Web Clip profile. This places the Nine Realms icon on your Home Screen and opens the Student App in the cleanest iOS experience available without using the App Store.
Use Safari for this. Chrome, Facebook, Instagram and other in-app browsers may not handle Apple profile installation correctly.
On your iPhone or iPad, open this page in Safari. Tap the gold Install iPhone/iPad Icon button. The file should end in .mobileconfig.
If Apple asks for permission to download a configuration profile, tap Allow. This does not install anything yet. It only saves the profile so you can approve it in Settings.
When you see Profile Downloaded, tap Close. Then leave Safari and open the normal grey Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
In Settings, tap Profile Downloaded near the top. If you do not see it, go to Settings → General → VPN & Device Management, then tap the Nine Realms profile.
On the profile screen, tap Install in the top right corner. This is the important Apple step. Without it, the icon will not appear.
Your device may ask for the iPhone/iPad passcode. Enter the code you normally use to unlock the device. Nine Realms does not see or receive this passcode.
Apple may ask you to confirm one more time. Tap Install again, then tap Done. This is the point where the Home Screen icon is created.
Return to your Home Screen and tap the Nine Realms icon. Sign in with your student account. Your courses and progress are connected to the same student portal.
Go to Settings → General → VPN & Device Management, tap the Nine Realms profile, then tap Remove Profile. This only removes the Home Screen icon/profile. It does not delete your student account or courses.
Choose your device guide, use the install button inside that section, then sign in and continue the Realms already open to you.
